Mozart in Cape Town?

Normally, I wouldn’t recommend going to a café that is called Café Mozart if is was more than 10,000 km from the original one, but in this case, it’s a must!

On 37 Church Street, Cape Town, you can find a totally charming outdoor cafe under a leafy green tree in pedestrian Church Street.

It’s been around for at least 30 years because I even remember it being 10 years old, living in a Cape Town green suburb.

I had a pastrami on rye bread with a tangy and spicy mustard spread, pickles, dill gherkins, lettuce, tomato and a delicious potato salad on the side. Nice, simple and fresh on a warm summers day, especially for a reasonable sum of 45R (about 4,5 €), including a ginger Ale and macchiato!

Apparently the open bobotie sandwich on molasses bread is also to die for.
